The CSUN Annual Meeting will be held on Saturday, June 14 at the Boston Research Center for the 21st Century, 396 Harvard Street, Cambridge (within walking distance of Harvard Square)
9:00 a.m.: Coffee, light refreshments and registration
9:30 a.m.: Welcome and roll call of member organizations
Brief business meeting
10:30 a.m.: Martha Thompson, Unitarian Universalist Service Committee Human Rights Specialist, will speak on Darfur, Testing the "Responsibility to Protect"

The Coalition for a Strong United Nations (CSUN) is a grassroots organization formed in 1993 to engage a wide range of active citizens in understanding the United Nations (UN) as it now functions and in considering ways it could be made to function more effectively and democratically. Hundreds of individuals and many civic groups have participated in the dozen conferences which the coalition has offered, dealing with peacebuilding, universal human rights, building a civil society, and the preservation and protection of the environment. We recognize that the United States (US) has not been enthusiastic about paying its full dues and has not yet ratified many important treaties and conventions. Given the need for the United States' commitment and its important role in creating a humane and just world, our challenge is to continue to build an active constituency for a stronger UN.

Thanks to the generous hospitality of one of our member organizations, the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee (UUSC), our board meetings are now held in a larger conference room.
This has allowed us to open our meetings for members and friends as we share our ongoing planning and discuss current UN topics.

CSUN is committed to teaching adults and young people the basics of the UN
System, its 57 year history and its current challenges. We have
prepared a 45 minute overview which we can offer to any size group.
